Nepal was hit by a 7.8-magnitude earthquake on April 25, with a second strike of comparable magnitude on May 3. The earthquakes combined with the dozens of aftershocks killed more than 8,000 people and left thousands homeless and injured. To assist in the relief efforts, APAO is organizing a “Run for Nepal” on March 26, 2016, during the 31st APAO Congress in Chinese Taipei. Participants will join a 5-km power run at Dadaocheng Wharf, Taipei. Each participant is committed to raising at least US$100 for Nepal.
Interested participants can submit an entry form to the APAO Secretariat by email at email@example.com. The sponsorship form and the donations must be sent to APAO by August 31, 2015. Those who wish to lend a helping hand without joining the charity run can donate online. You can also scan the QR code below to make a donation:
If you wish to contribute a different amount or need a donation receipt, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. All funds raised will be wired to the Nepal Ophthalmic Society along with the proceeds of the Run for Nepal.
Participants are divided into 3 categories: (1) Young Ophthalmologists, (2) Senior Ophthalmologists and (3) Accompanying Persons. Ophthalmologists aged above 65 can participate in the 5km Power Jog instead. Prizes include champions, 1st and 2nd runners-ups. Click here for more information.
We look forward to your support and to seeing you in Taipei!
